Verstappen goes karting

JOS VERSTAPPEN may not be in Formula 1 at the moment but he has not lost his love of the sport. Last weekend at Mariembourg in Belgium, Jos visited the first round of the World Karting Championships not as a spectator but to help out Holland's Giedo van der Garde, who drives for the CRG company.

The event (which featured the first two rounds of the Formula Super A World Championship) was dominated by the veteran Alessandro Manetti (CRG) who won both events and so leads the World Championship. Marko Asmer from Estonia was second in the first race in his Tony Kart entry while young British hopeful Ben Hanley was right behind Manetti in the second race. Hanley drives for Maranello Kart.
