Sato goes to the Brickyard
TAKUMA SATO stopped off on his way to Montreal at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to have a look at the world's most famous race track and drove around the track in a road car to get an idea of the F1 circuit. Sato was not able to do any complete laps because the barriers used on the oval are still in place.
Sato made a similar "reconnaissance" visit to Interlagos in Brazil last winter but on that occasion was able to lap the track in a Formula 3 car.
Prior to leaving for the United States Sato tested the latest specification Honda V10 engine but the company has now decided not to use the new engine in the Canadian GP and do more testing before introducing the unit.
