Phoenix case today

PHOENIX FINANCE LTD. goes to the High Court in London this week for an answer in its case against the FIA and FOM, claiming that the two organizations stopped the company from competing this year, using assets acquired from the defunct Prost Grand Prix.

The court case is being held under British law but the outcome may not be known for some while as whoever wins is likely to have to face an appeal the decision.

Last week there was High Court action when Jos Verstappen's legal team won substantial damages from the Arrows team. The decision is not yet final and depends on a counter suit against Verstappen for $8 million. Arrows is claiming that some remarks the Dutchman made about Enrique Bernoldi prevented the team from securing a sponsorship deal.
