Tyrrell Tribute at Goodwood Festival of Speed
THERE will be a tribute to the late Ken Tyrrell at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed in mid-July. It is not yet fully clear who will be involved but it is expected that Sir Jackie Stewart will lead the tribute. Jean Alesi is expected to appear at the wheel of a Tyrrell 019 and many other old Tyrrells will be supplied by Paul Stoddart, who owns many of the Tyrrell chassis.
Goodwood will also feature a special Renault theme this year with Jenson Button and Jarno Trulli appearing with the current F1 car and Patrick Tambay and Rene Arnoux expected to drive some of the old turbo cars from the 1980s. Jean-Pierre Jaussaud is also slated to appear in the Le Mans 24 Hour-winning Alpine-Renault sports car.
Also on the bill are David Coulthard in a McLaren-Mercedes and Juan-Pablo Montoya at the wheel of a Williams-BMW.
Goodwood is now one of the automotive events of the year and takes place on the weekend after the British GP.
