Irvine will start last after test reveals illegal fuel

THE stewards for the Spanish Grand Prix have decided to move Jaguar's Eddie Irvine to the back of the grid for the start of Sundays race after the FIA discovered "irregularities" in his fuel during a routine fuel test.

Irvine qualified 15th on Saturday but a test of the fuel used during qualifying revealed the irregularity. A second test was performed to verify the results, and the stewards made the decision to send Irvine to the end of the line.

The FIA released a statement regarding the affair. "After having examined the results of this further analysis, the stewards decided to delete all qualifying times of the driver."
