Big guns meet Saturday
THE top management of the motor manufacturers are to meet on Saturday at Imola with the major talking point being the possibility of a deal with Bernie Ecclestone over the future of F1 television rights. There are suggestions in the paddock that the basis of a deal is already in place which will see peace being declared by the parties involved with the long term aim being to ensure stability in F1.
Information about the situation is scarce but the mood amongst the big F1 players on Friday was very relaxed, suggesting that the future of the sport is no longer in doubt.
But, as they say in America, the show is not over until the fat lady sings.
