Lotus to build a soapbox!
LOTUS ENGINEERING will take part in the soapbox derby at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer with the aim of producing a 50kg device which will be capable of running at 55mph down the famous Goodhill hill. The car, which has been codenamed Lotus 119 (the last Formula 1 car was the 109 in 1994). The 119 will feature lightweight aluminum construction allied to composite parts and is being designed by a group of student engineers in collaboration with the famous British car company (now owned by the Malaysian firm Proton).
