Leon Mandel

IT has been announced that Leon Mandel, the publisher of Autoweek magazine, has died after a long fight with leukemia. Mandel developed Autoweek from being a small special-interest magazine to becoming one of the country's top automobile publications, taking over as publisher five years after he joined the magazine in 1983.

Prior to that Mandel worked in the US racing scene and was the author of several books, including biographies of Peter Revson and Danny Sullivan.
