Minardi launches new livery in KL
WHILE Jordan was getting much attention in Brussels for the launch of the EJ12, the KL Minardi Asiatech team launched their 2002 championship contender in Kuala Lumpur. Paul Stoddart's team showed off the PS02 with its new Go KL livery for the first time at the Kuala Lumpur airport in front of an international crowd of media and guests, and made clear that the small Italian outfit expects to be in the top 10 in the constructors championship in the coming season.
Financial support from the Malaysian government and Malaysian lottery giant Magnum, have given the team the resources to design, build and test the PS02, and go into the 2002 season with high expectations. Malaysian Alex Yoong shook down the first PS02 on February 2nd at Imola, and he and teammate Mark Webber have tested the cars in Spain over the past three weeks, putting the team in a better position to challenge the mid-field teams than they were in a year ago.
