The new Arrows to run on Monday
ENIRQUE BERNOLDI is scheduled to test the first new Arrows-Cosworth A23s on Monday in England before the car is sent to Spain for more intensive tests. The test is expected to be in England and if Arrows sticks to past form it will probably take place at the Santa Pod drag strip in Bedfordshire.
The team's love of secrecy continues to baffle F1 observers as negotiations continue into the identity of the second driver. There are clearly some games being played at the moment as the Dutch press are reporting that talks with Heinz-Harald Frentzen have been broken off. This is most unlikely as Frentzen is a real bargain for any team as Jordan is going to pay most of his salary this season. Frentzen is also a three-time Grand Prix winner which is not something that Verstappen can claim. On the other hand there are one or two problems for Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw as Verstappen has a contract for 2002 and we believe that this was lodged with the FIA Contract Recognition Board and so if Walkinshaw wishes to break it he will have to pay Verstappen off - or find him another drive.
