Changes is Sauber structure
THERE have been some changes in the technical structure of Sauber with Belgian Jacky Eeckelaert appointed head of track engineering and race engineer for Felipe Massa. In previous years Eeckelaert was head of the test team although he acted as Kimi Raikkonen's engineer in 2001.
Nick Heidfeld will continue to be engineered by Remi Decorzent.
Thee team is currently building a brand new windtunnel facility near the Sauber factory in Hinwil and thus should be finished by the end of 2003. This will be overseen by Ireland's Seamus Malarky, the team's head of aerodynamics whose teams spends around 40 weeks a year in the Emmen windtunnel which Sauber currently uses. The $50m program is the largest undertaken by the team. The new tunnel will allow the team to use a full sized model on a stainless steel rolling road.
