Irvine goes to court
EDDIE IRVINE has taken legal action to gain some damages from a radio station which used his picture to promote its programming - without paying Eddie for the privilege. The problem occurred in 1999 when the Talk Radio station published advertising posters featured a doctored photograph of Irvine, dressed in his racing overalls.
Irvine argues that the image suggested that Talk Radio was endorsed by Irvine. This might be logical given Irvine's love of talking but was apparently not the case at the time. Irvine says that the posters damaged his image. Talk Radio (which is now called Talksport) is arguing that this is not the case at all.
