Verstappen confirms himself at Arrows!
THE mystery deepens at Arrows. Jos Verstappen, who was signed by Arrows last summer, then mysteriously not confirmed by Arrows when they signed Enrique Bernoldi, told his fanclub that he will definitely be driving for the Leafield based team in 2002.
"I am visiting the factory again this week and I have sent them all the paperwork for the application on their request," said the Dutchman.
With Prost's fate to be decided in the next day or two, so too should the fate of Verstappen and German Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw is thought to rate Frentzen very highly, but the Grand Prix winner is expected to drive for Prost if they make the grid in Melbourne on March 3rd. If Prost fails to make it to Australia, however, Frentzen may be behind the wheel of an orange car, and Verstappen may be watching from the stands.
