Barrichello flips Ferrari in Valencia

TESTING resumed in Valencia on Saturday, and Rubens Barrichello provided some drama when he lost control of his Ferrari and crashed spectacularly. The Brazilian hit a course barrier on his 19th lap, and sent his Ferrari flipping into the air. Luckily, Barrichello was able to walk away unhurt, but testing was halted for 40 minutes as repairs were made to the barrier.

Barrichello's teammate, and defending World Champion, Michael Schumacher was the fastest man at the Ricardo Tormo circuit Saturday. The German completed 101 laps, the fastest at 1m12.66s.

Olivier Panis and Jacques Villeneuve were, once again, both testing new BAR 004 chassis Saturday, and the Williams trio of Ralf Schumacher, Antonio Pizzonia and Marc Gene were all conducting testing in FW23s.

Saturday marked Ryo Fukuda's Formula One debut. The Japanese driver completed 60 laps in a 003 chassis, during his first day testing for BAR.

Testing at the Spanish circuit will conclude on Sunday.
