Silverstone changes pit complex

OCTAGON MOTORSPORT has announced plans to rebuild Silverstone's current pit complex to better accommodate spectators, while plans to build a new pit complex exclusively for Formula One, on the straight after Club corner, have been abandoned.

The new pit complex, scheduled to be completed in time for the 2003 British Grand Prix, is just part of the plan to renovate Silverstone in order to make it a top tier Formula One circuit. The overall plan also includes improving the perennial traffic problems, which is already underway, and building a museum, restaurants, hotels, and shopping facilities.
