Ukraine president vetoes tobacco initiative
LEONID KUCHMA, the president of Ukraine, has vetoed a November 15 law which was intended to stop all alcohol and tobacco advertising in the country. The Ukrainian parliament had voted in favor of the restriction. While this is itself is not of any great interest in F1, it once again highlights the problems which exist for the World Health Organisation as it tries to push through its Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. FIA President Max Mosley has said that he will ban all tobacco advertising in the sport if the WHO's scheme is agreed.
