Automobile industry strong despite recession

THE European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has announced that the automobile industry in Europe is strong, despite the weak economy. Sales of passenger cars in October were up 8.3 percent compared to the same month last year and although this does not compare to the United States's amazing 26.4% leap in car sales in October, it is still impressive. The only country to come close to the US figures was Britain where car sales rose around 20%. Germany was up nearly 9 percent with France and Italy both in the seven percent bracket.
