Jordan's Indianapolis appeal

THE FIA International Court of Appeal will meet on October 27 to hear the Jordan team's appeal against the exclusion of Jarno Trulli from fourth place at the recent United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

Trulli's car was excluded because the underbody "plank" was measured and found to have suffered excessive wear. The team claims that there is a reason for this and that Trulli should be reinstated.

If the appeal is successful it will mean that Jordan will finish ahead of British American Racing in the Constructors' Championship. This may not be massively significant but it is important to Jordan which is still fighting for Honda engines in 2003.
