FIA makes link with

GRANDPRIX.COM, one of the leading motorsport websites, has been named as "an official source of information" by the F?d?ration Internationale de l'Automobile, the international automobile federation (FIA).

The partnership will give visitors to the website access to's database which includes the entire history of the FIA Formula One World Championship from 1950 to the present day.

"We believe this is the most comprehensive database on the history of motorsport, including Formula One. We are delighted it is now connected to the FIA website and available to all motorsport enthusiasts free of charge", says FIA President Max Mosley. is owned by the Inside F1 organisation, which was created in 1994 to build up interest in Formula 1 in the United States of America. The company's award-winning newsletter became the industry standard in the late 1990s and this led to the launch of the website in 2000. Inside F1 acquired the domain name earlier this year.

"This is great news", says Mark Karp of "This is a further step in our strategy to become THE information website for racing fans around the world. To date we have allowed our growth to be solely from word-of-mouth between race fans. We are already the source of information most used in the paddock and we hope that more fans will hear about us thanks to our association with the FIA."

The Inside F1 newsletter continues to be used by the racing industry around the world, highlighting the latest developments in the multi-billion dollar racing industry. also features the largest F1 photographic archive online with images from father-and-son team Bernard and Paul-Henri Cahier and from the Klementaski Collection.

Inside F1, which has offices in New York, France and Britain, is also behind the Inside F1 Young Driver Programme which is designed to help a young American driver to get to Formula 1. The 2001 Award winner is 19-year-old Patrick Long, who will battle for the British Formula Ford Zetec title at Silverstone this weekend.
