Mansell to join Silverstone celebrations
FORMER world champion Nigel Mansell is to join celebrations marking Scuderia Ferrari's 68-year history at the top of motor sport at this year's Silverstone Historic Festival.
The ex-Ferrari man who won the Formula 1 title with Williams in 1992 and followed it up with the Indycar World Championship title in his rookie year of 1993 will be present at the 12th annual Silverstone Historic Festival, featuring a revival race for the Group C sports prototypes of the 1980s and the Footman James RetroRun alongside the celebrations of all things Ferrari.
The Scuderia will be represented from its pre-war days as the official Alfa Romeo team taking on the Silver Arrows of Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz through to its present incarnation as Michael Schumacher's world title-winning team.
Mansell, a Silverstone favorite, will be signing autographs and meeting 'his' public at the venue he made his own from 1987-92, when he returns for the Festival's third and final day on 27 August.
