Villeneuve - happy to stay at BAR?

JACQUES VILLENEUVE has decided to stay with British American Racing for 2002 - despite his season-opening declaration that only third place in this year's world championship would be acceptable to secure his services - and launched an all-out assault on the team.

"We're not doing too well, we're not very competitive and we have been going backwards, so it is a little bit difficult to accept at this point," he said. "All the work we're doing now is more in desperation than in trying to get the last tenth out of the car."
