Walkinshaw confirms Asiatech split

ARROWS team chief Tom Walkinshaw confirmed on Sunday that his team will not use Asiatech engines next season.

Walkinshaw said that the Leafield-based team have three potential power unit suppliers for 2002, and added that he has informed Asiatech they will not be needed.

"We have three options on engines for next year," said Walkinshaw. "We have told Asiatech to make other plans for next season."

Arrows linked up with Asiatech, who re-badged Prost's ailing Peugeot engines from last season, in a one-year deal during the close season.
