Benetton to use launch control for first time

MIKE GASCOYNE, technical director of Benetton, has said that the team will debut their launch control system in this weekend's European Grand Prix.

Benetton have yet to use the system and will test it during the opening practice sessions.

But Gascoyne said that if it does not prove successful during the Friday's practice sessions, the team will not adopt the system for the start of the race at the Nurburgring.

"We intend to use launch control at this Grand Prix for the first time and the latest developments on our traction control system," said Gascoyne.

"We will naturally review the launch control, based on the results over the first two days in Germany."
