Jordan and Arrows aids banned

THE FIA have banned Jordan and Arrows' new aerodynamic developments on the day of their introduction in Monaco.

Both teams explored loopholes in the rules to introduce wings in unusual places with Jordan's in front of the cockpit and Arrows' on the nosecone.

But FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer has declared it a "dangerous construction" and said it must not run again or the team's run the risk of exclusion.

Arrows, who ran an additional wing on their nosecone in Thursday practice, have also been forced to remove their new device.

The move is sure to anger team boss Eddie Jordan following a similar situation three years ago. Then Jordan spent time and money developing controversial sidepod wings only for them to be banned soon after their introduction.
