De la Rosa move is a good one - Irvine

JAGUAR's decision to hand a full drive to Pedro de la Rosa for the remainder of the season is a good one, according to Briton Eddie Irvine.

Spaniard De la Rosa will replace Luciano Burti from this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix onwards, and Irvine has given his backing to the move.

Irvine claimed that the decision will prove beneficial for Milton Keynes-based Jaguar as they aim to reduce the gap on the sport's leading teams.

"Usually, changing team-mates in mid-season is not a good idea but Pedro understands the task and so everything should go smoothly," Irvine said.

Brazilian Burti will make his debut for Prost in the race at the Circuit de Catalunya this weekend, after moving to the Guyancourt-based team to replace Argentine Gaston Mazzacane.
