Ferrari test hampered by rain

FERRARI tested their full electronic program at Mugello, Italy on Friday but were hampered by rain which disrupted their work during the afternoon.

Reigning champion Michael Schumacher was quickest after completing 71 laps, 31 of which were driven on a wet track, as the German posted a best lap time of one minute, 24.169 seconds on the 5.25 kilometer circuit.

Official test driver Luca Badoer was less than 0.3 seconds off the pace of Schumacher as Ferrari prepared all aspects of their electronic systems, including gear change, starts, engine and differential.

Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen and Brazilian Tarso Marques of Minardi also took part in the test, as they completed 84 and 48 laps respectively.
