BAT contemplate part sale of BAR

BRITISH AMERICAN RACING's majority shareholders British American Tobacco are reportedly ready to reduce their 51 per cent share in the team.

According to reports in the British press, BAT have called in investment bankers Goldman Sachs to analyze the feasibility of selling off some, or all, of their shares in the Brackley-based team.

Six months ago, management of the BAR team reportedly tried to buy out BAT in a £120 million (pounds) deal.

BAR managing director Craig Pollock, co-founder Adrian Reynard and driver Jacques Villeneuve all hold shares in BAR at the present time.
