De la Rosa says that there was no deal with Prost
PEDRO DE LA ROSA says that he did not sign any deal with Prost Grand Prix and that he was negotiating the terms of an agreement when he received a better offer from Jaguar.
The Prost team has threatened de la Rosa and Jaguar with legal action but if no contract exists it is going to be hard to make a case, although it is quite likely that there was some kind of verbal agreement in existence. This would explain Prost's anger at the Spanish driver's decision to sign with Jaguar instead.
"In the end," said Pedro," it all comes down to racing. That is what I want to do, and I had to guarantee my future. No-one wants to end a relationship in a bad way, but that's what I had to do."
