Barrichello takes over at Mugello
BRAZILIAN Rubens Barrichello replaced Michael Schumacher behind the wheel of the second F2001 at Mugello on Sunday and enjoyed a trouble-free day.
Schumacher was hampered by an engine problem on Saturday but Barrichello expressed his delight with the new chassis after he completed 84 laps of the Italian circuit.
"I am happy with the way development work has gone today," said Barrichello, who posted a quickest lap time of one minute and 24.079 seconds during the day as he ran over 440 kilometers.
German Nick Heidfeld replaced Kimi Raikkonen for Sauber and was quicker than Barrichello with a lap time of one minute and 23.364 seconds. He completed 77 laps.
Ferrari will continue at Mugello on Monday and both Barrichello and Schumacher will be in action.
