Benetton tester Webber signs F3000 role
BENETTON test driver Mark Webber has signed a contract to drive for F3000 team Super Nova, ending speculation that he could be on his way to Minardi.
Webber, who drove for Stoddart's European Racing in F3000 last year, has been confirmed alongside Brazilian Mario Haberfeld.
"I am really looking forward to the new season, especially due to the fact that I will be working with Super Nova which will be really exciting," Webber said.
"I hope that I can get them the results that they are used to. We will obviously be challenging very, very hard for the championship, which is my goal for the start of the season.
"I am hoping that we will be able to win the title because that would be a great achievement."
Team manager David Sears said: "It has taken us a long time to make our decision, however with Mark Webber we have a proven race winner and one of the title favorites."
