Hynes looking for BAR testing deal
BRITON Marc Hynes will learn early in the New Year if he has done enough to secure a test drive with British American Racing, after he completed a test with the team in Barcelona.
Hynes, the 1999 British Formula Three Champion, was given a chance to shine as part of BAR's development program and he believes he coped well with the demands of Formula One and is looking for a testing role with the Brackley-based team.
"This is another step up from anything I've done," said Hynes, who has also tested with Indy Lights team PacWest Racing. "You've got to learn quickly but you have to if you want to be a successful driver.
"Once you've settled in, things are not much different to other levels of motor racing. The systems are easy to understand but you've got to step up a level because the power is immense. I'd love to have a role in Formula One."
