In the event of an accident...
MOTOR RACING get a lot of bad publicity when there is a fatal accident. These thankfully are very rare. Other sports are far more dangerous and this is often overlooked by critics of motor racing. Just as an example, it is worth recording that no fewer than 10 people were killed in the Italian Alps on Sunday when a sudden cold snap made mountain paths much more treacherous than normal. In one incident four people died one after another as they tried to rescue a dog which had slipped down a mountain slope. All of them were experienced climbers. Two others died in separate unrelated accidents while the others were involved in ski accidents.
