Prost announce Michelin deal
PROST GRAND PRIX have announced the signing of a three-year agreement with French tire manufacturers Michelin.
The Guyancourt-based team will begin a four-day test session at Barcelona on Tuesday and will be using the new Michelin tires in preparation for the 2001 season.
Prost, who have not yet chosen their second driver for the 2001 season, will test throughout the four days with Jean Alesi, while a second car will run with various young drivers.
Team president Alain Prost said: "Next year's car will be a big improvement in all areas and we are looking forward to next season.
"We have now one of the best engine packages with Ferrari. Top F1 management like Joan Villadelprat and Henri Durand have joined the team and the technical department has been completely reorganized.
"The new partnership with Pedro Diniz has provided us with the resources needed to develop the team further."
