Karthikeyan's Jaguar test postponed

NARAIN KARTHIKEYAN''s bid to be the first Indian driver to pilot a Formula One car has been thwarted by Jaguar Racing's decision to postpone his test at Silverstone this Friday.

Karthikeyan was scheduled to test for Jaguar at the Northamptonshire circuit, but the team will instead use new test-drivers Tomas Scheckter and Andre Lotterer to support Eddie Irvine and Luciano Burti next month.

The Indian driver is contracted to Jaguar Racing's Formula Three outfit Stewart Racing and as part of his deal is promised a Formula One test.

A Jaguar Racing spokeswoman confirmed that Karthikeyan will not test this week and his test will perhaps be rescheduled for later in December.
