Jordan new-boy insists team will deliver

NEW Jordan chief operating officer John Putt has said he will relish the challenge of helping the team to become Formula One World Champions.

Putt was named as the man to fill the newly developed role with the Silverstone-based team and he is ready to use his 21 years experience in the automotive industry to help Jordan overcome a disappointing 2000.

The 49-year-old, who has been associated with the team for four years prior to his appointment, admitted that the new Honda engine deal will help the team to challenge Ferrari and McLaren at the head of the grid.

"In the four years I have been closely associated with Jordan, I've never been more excited at the prospect," Putt said.

"Honda are asking all the right questions and, if we are going to deliver in Formula One, then we will have to answer those questions positively - and I believe we will."
