De la Rosa believes in Arrows way of life

SPANIARD Pedro de la Rosa has said that rumors of a move to Prost are wide of the mark and he expressed his content of life with Arrows.

De la Rosa will be given a new deal with the Leafield-based team for 2001 and the 29-year-old insisted he is happy to remain with Arrows - even though he dreams of driving for Ferrari and McLaren.

"I believe in the project of Tom Walkinshaw and I believe that Arrows is now a good team," De la Rosa said.

"Evidently, I would really like to drive for Ferrari or McLaren. But it is also good to grow in a team, to be a part of a long term project and to see how your objectives are achieved."

De la Rosa also confirmed that he expects Spanish oil company Repsol, who back him, to remain with Arrows for 2001.

"I sincerely believe that Repsol will continue in Formula One and that we will be together," he added.

"I cannot confirm anything yet, but the structure of the team is set to continue with the drivers, sponsors and engineers. The only thing that I can say is that when Repsol enter a competition they do it always with a long-term view."
