Monza circuit officials announced after the Italian Grand Prix that the fire marshal injured during the race has died in a Monza hospital.

The marshal, PaoloÊGhislimberti, 30, was injured when debris was scattered across the track as Pedro de la Rosa's Arrows flew through the air joining David Coulthard, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Jarno Trulli and Rubens Barrichello in the gravel trap at the la Roggia chicane.

The official was given a heart massage at the side of the track and was then taken to the circuit medical centre.
