Schumacher hit with record speeding fine

German Ralf Schumacher was hit with record speeding fine on Saturday after clocking almost 85 kph in the pit-lane at Monza.

The BMW-Williams driver was fined $6250 (US Dollars) for doing 84.2 kph in the pit-lane during Saturday morning's practice session.

Schumacher, the younger brother of Ferrari's Michael, had already been with fines in Brazil and Canada this season and his offence in Italy was increased because of his past indescrepencies.

Minardi's Marc Gene joined him in being fined, but the Spaniard had to hand over just $3750 for a similar speeding offence.
