Ford set to build £75 million motorsport base

FORD have drawn up plans to build a new £75 million base for all their motorsport activities at Silverstone.

The Ford Motorsport Campus will benefit all their motorsport projects, including the Jaguar Formula One team.

The base would cover 50 acres at the Northamptonshire circuit and would include a new wind tunnel, engine testing facility and 750,000 square-feet of assembly and office space.

Cosworth, the arm of Ford who supply engines to Jaguar in Formula One, would also be based at the site and would employ 1,200 staff, says the company.
