Ferrari, Sauber and BAR testing at Mugello

FERRARI, Sauber and British American Racing continued their preparations for the Belgian Grand Prix with an extensive testing session at the Mugello circuit, Italy.

Michael Schumacher topped the day's times in his Ferrari as he completed 69 laps with a fastest lap of one minute and 27.34 seconds. The German concentrated his work on the set-up and engine he will use at Spa-Francorchamps on August 27.

Sauber's Mika Salo was second fastest, completing 59 laps with a fastest of one minute and 29.42 seconds. The Finn worked on lowering the downforce of his car. Enrique Bernoldi was fourth fastest in the other Sauber with a lap time of one minute and 30.27 seconds.

BAR decided to use the day to give an outing to their two test drivers Darren Manning and Patrick Lemarie. Lemarie was third fastest overall with a lap time of one minute and 30.10 seconds, just over six-tenths ahead of Manning.
