Scheckter wants more after debut Formula One test
TOMAS SCHECKTER insisted that he cannot wait for another chance to test a Formula One car after his debut at Silverstone on Tuesday.
South African Scheckter, the son of Ferrari's 1979 world champion Jody, tested a Jaguar R1 at the Northamptonshire track and is already keen to get back in the cock-pit.
"This was my chance to show Jaguar what I can do in a car, and after my first taste of Formula One I definitely want more," said Scheckter, who competes for Stewart Racing (a division of Jaguar Racing) in the British Formula Three Championship.
"I tried to treat it like any other test, but it was so exciting," he added. "A Formula One car is amazing - like a rocket ship."
Scheckter, 19, is considered to have a bright future in the sport and is also competing for McLaren's junior team mySAP.com in the Formula 3000 Championship this season. He finished Tuesday's test as the slowest driver, but impressed Jaguar with his feedback.
