Barrichello -- I will fight

RUBENS BARRICHELLO has insisted that Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo told him to carry on fighting for the championship -- despite the Italian's comments in the press.

Barrichello admitted that the pair had been involved in a Fiorano meeting following his maiden win at the German Grand Prix and di Montezemolo had backed his bid for more wins.

"I don't know what he said to the press but what he said to me was quite different," Barrichello said.

"It's quite a vote of confidence to bring another T-car here for me so why would he do that if I was only here to be in the other car?

"He said he definitely wanted Ferrari to win the championship and he didn't mind who it was. What was said in the press wasn't told to me.

"I think I'm getting better and better with Ferrari and Luca told me that this was the best year for Ferrari and we must put everything into it and win both championships."
