AMT and Arrows to begin testing in October

ARROWS will begin testing with new engine suppliers Asian Motor Technologies (AMT) in October after meeting technicians for the first time.

AMT secured a deal to supply the Leafield-based team with Peugeot engines for the 2001 championship, after the French engine supplier opted to exit Formula One.

In a statement released on Friday, AMT revealed that Arrows will begin testing their A21 chassis with Peugeot power units in October.

"Under the wing of Enrique Scalabroni, the technical director of AMT, the engineers of Peugeot Sport and the Orange-Arrows team started their collaboration," the statement read.

"The objective is to test as soon as possible with an Arrows 21 chassis equipped with the A20 engine with primary aim of validating the electronic systems.

"Technically, reduced dimensions of the engine A20 will facilitate the adaptation and the integration of the transmission should not pose large problems. The first tests could be at the beginning of the second half of October."
