Ferrari working to eradicate problems

FERRARI are hard at work this week in an attempt to eradicate the problems that caused Michael Schumacher to retire from last weekend's French Grand Prix.

The Italian team, whose championship lead has been reduced to 12 points after McLaren driver David Coulthard's triumph in Magny-Cours, have carried out a rigorous testing regime this week at Mugello, Italy.

A spokesperson for the team said: "The main concern was to improve the Ferrari F1-2000's set-up to get the best out of its tires after they experienced high degradation during the French Grand Prix."

This has led to Michael Schumacher running various suspension settings to find out the reason for this.

The team have also been working to identify the cause of Schumacher's race engine failure at the French Grand Prix. Currently, the problem is still unknown.
