MAURO FORGHIERI, who has been involved in Formula 1 for the last 40 years with Ferrari and Lamborghini, is working as a consultant to BMW on the Munich company's V10 engine program. The 64-year-old Italian was one of the star engineers in Formula 1 in the 1960s and 1970s and stayed with Ferrari until 1984. After three years in the wilderness he joined Lamborghini Engineering and in 1991 was briefly technical director of the Modena Team F1 operation. When Lamborghini closed down he joined Romero Artioli's Bugatti Automobili before establishing his own Oral Engineering in 1994.
