Peugeot and Jordan to stay exclusive

PEUGEOT SPORT and Jordan Grand Prix have agreed to extend the exclusivity of their current engine deal until the end of 1997 - but there is no word on whether the pair will be working together in 1998.

Jordan would obviously like to continue with Peugeot but the French manufacturer is faced with having to decide whether to stick with Jordan - which has not delivered the results expected to date - or to take the opportunity to do a deal with a top team such as Williams or Benetton.

Current logic suggests that Peugeot Sport should be busy doing a deal with Williams for 1998 and beyond - and trying to hire as many members of Renault Sport as possible.
