Stewart denies Ikuzawa deal
STEWART GRAND PRIX has denied that it is to use the design of abortive Ikuzawa F1 team as the basis of its 1997 chassis, but admits that it has recently hired the aerodynamicist from the Ikuzawa F1 project - who did several hundred hours of windtunnel work on the Ikuzawa design.
The team also has ex-Williams aerodynamicist Egbahl Hamidy who is expected to conduct all Stewart's aerodynamic work in the 50% rolling road windtunnel at Swift in San Clemente, California, a windtunnel Hamidy knows well having worked there with Williams. Stewart is currently in the process of building 50% models to test in California.
