Francisco Godia-Sales

A wealthy Spaniard from Barcelona, Godia-Sales drove briefly for the Maserati factory on a pay-drive basis in the 1950s and finished fourth in the 1956 German and Italian Grands Prix driving a 250F. He is particularly remembered for remarking when Fangio returned to the pits with a badly damaged Maserati 300S sports car: "You don't have to be a World Champion to do that. I could have done that."
