Name: George Follmer
Nationality: United States of America
Date of birth: January 27, 1934 - Phoenix, Arizona

Tough and versatile racer who won the 1972 Can-Am Championship after taking over the Penske Porsche 917/K turbo after Mark Donohue suffered leg injuries. He drove for the UOP Shadow team in Formula 1 during 1973, finishing third at Barcelona where he put Francois Cevert in his place during an animated discussion on the winner's rostrum, pointing out that if the Frenchman did not like the defensive manner in which he drove, then that was just tough luck.
