A cheerful ex-Formula Fordster, Bob Evans won the 1974 British Formula 5000 Championship at the wheel of a McKechnie team Lola. He briefly drove in Formula 1 with the fading BRM team in 1975, then had two races for Lotus the following year before being replaced by Gunnar Nilsson.
